WEEE RECYCLING AT OUR STORES

What products can I recycle for free? 

You can recycle all electrical goods from kitchen appliances, such as washing machines, dishwashers, cookers etc., to TVs, laptops, toasters and more. You can even recycle used batteries. We will accept and recycle anything with a plug or battery free of charge.

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is taken back free of charge on a one-forone, like-for-like basis. Waste batteries including rechargeable batteries are taken back free of charge. You are not obliged to make any purchase when returning old batteries. Each local authority must also accept household WEEE and small batteries free of charge at its recycling facilities. All WEEE and waste batteries must be recycled and should not be placed in any of your household wheelie bins. Make sure you always recycle all your old electrical goods and batteries.

 

Do I need to have made a purchase at Soundstore to avail of free recycling? 

No, you can recycle your old appliances at any of our stores even if you have not made a purchase with us. Just call in to any of our stores with your old appliance and we will take care of it for you.

How do I return my old appliance to be recycled? 
You can return your old appliance to any of our stores. For store locations please see our store locator page.

 

Will you collect my old appliance when I order for delivery? 

LARGE APPLIANCES

If you are getting a new large appliance delivered our delivery driver will take your old appliance back to be recycled. The old appliance must be disconnected, clean and ready for our driver at the time of delivery.

When returning an old appliance for recycling on delivery, the product must be of similar type or have performed the same function as the newly purchased product.

 

SMALL APPLIANCES

Small appliances are delivered to you by An Post  but we can still arrange to have your old appliance recycled free of charge. Just bring it back to any of our stores  and we will ensure that it is disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.

 

Do you recycle used batteries? 

Yes, we do. You can recycle your old batteries at any of our stores. We accept AA, AAA, C or D and flat batteries such as those used in watches and toys.

 

How much does recycling cost? 

There is no charge to recycle your old appliances at any of our stores.
